About

Sometimes when you apply for a bilingual position, the employer will give you a test. They want to make sure that you really are bilingual.

This test can take on many forms. Two of the most common forms are 1) a test with the interviewer and 2) a test with another employee.

A test with the interviewer just means the interviewer (who is also bilingual) will do part of your interview in your second language.

A test with another employee is used when the interviewer is not bilingual. In this scenario, the employer will tell you that they’re going to bring someone into the interview for a few minutes to talk with you. Another employee will have a short conversation with you in your second language and then leave the room.

My Bilingual Interview provides resources for bilingual professionals and also the opportunity to practice doing an interview in English.
